A Bright Light for Young Paths

"The Decay of Winter is the Mulch for Spring... "

Now we're talking, for I love spring, with its enormous pulse of renewal, hope and joy.

I share with the young people in Lifeplan, one of my favorite clarion calls to spring:

"Happiness is a road to travel, not a goal to be reached.
Much like a butterfly, those who lunge for it find it just beyond their grasp.
Those who walk a path with a heart, find it lighting on their shoulder.
Thus, patience is the cornerstone of genius, the sculptor's mallet
and chisel that carves great lives."

So it is with spring. It is one of nature's profound gifts to those open to this spirit of new beginnings. Buddha reminds us, "There are two mistakes one can make along the road to truth... not going all the way, and not starting."

Helen Keller also entreats us to remember, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."

So it is with this spring for us to recall Walt Disney's words, "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing."

Lifeplan offers young people everywhere a platform to express their dreams, build a game plan and grow a board of directors to help them succeed. It's usually about this time of year that these young people are completing the process of building their Lifeplans. How appropriate that spring offers such a vibrant season to celebrate their plan and their commitments. It shines a bright light on their young paths.

Happy spring!
Andy
