Spring is on the Horizon ...
"March on. Do not tarry. To go forward is to move toward perfection." - Kahlil Gibran
Well, perfection might be a bit much. I am happy to think of moving forward with a life that expresses good values, is thoughtful and other-oriented. That is the intent of Lifeplan: To equip young people with a plan that reflects their dreams and aspirations, smart goals, a board of directors and the true confidence that they can and will succeed.
March is named after Mars, the Roman god of warfare, and tied to much in the mythological domain. "Out of the death grip of March the Earth ushers in the spring."
It is also home to St. Patrick's Day and the wearin' o' the green! The Irish speak with such eloquence about life. One of my favorite Irish sayings is, "Life is like a cup of tea; it's all in how you make it."
March is also noteworthy for Shakespeare's line from Julius Caesar when the soothsayer offers, "Beware the Ides of March." (15). As we know in Lifeplan, life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze us (or as in Caesar's case, kill us). They're merely supposed to help us discover who we really are.
Well, for those fortunate enough, it's also all in how you plan it. So these young people growing a Lifeplan have a road map to achieve their dreams and aspirations
As March brings us closer to spring, remember James Dean's memorable thought, "Dream as if you'll live forever and live as if you'll die tomorrow!" And all along the way, try to be happy.
Come on, Spring!
