Spring means action for Lifeplan students
Early Spring is in the air. In Lifeplan we are now exploring how you further grow your Lifeplan and begin taking the steps to make it a reality.
The "Action Steps" push these young people into making concrete plans about the next steps in the journey of "Choices, Decisions, and Consequences."
They are at the point in this journey where they are moving from their journal - where they have listed their strengths and weaknesses, dreams and goals - to growing SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely) and finally, to deciding whom they wish to recruit to their Board of Directors.
Right now, my stellar group is inviting those individuals they wish to be on their board to a evening where they will all present their experience of the Lifeplan journey and formally ask those in attendance to be on their board. This is a concrete Action Step.
Next, they will be meeting with the guidance counselor at the high school they are attending next year to share their Lifeplan and discuss a class plan that furthers their progress toward their dreams.
These young people know that the more specific they get, the more likely they will succeed.
I can share with you that over the past decade the young people who have continued to grow their Lifeplans are thriving and getting ever closer to realizing their dreams.
Happy March!
Andy
